Regular Season Round 1: Gimle - A.Kraukla/VEF 71-81

A.Kraukla/VEF beat the opponent Riga 81-71 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by A.Kraukla/VEF. Gimle managed to win second period 22-16 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. A.Kraukla/VEF forced 22 Gimle turnovers. Strangely Gimle outrebounded A.Kraukla/VEF 52-37 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Four A.Kraukla/VEF players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Sigurd Sivertsen who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and Luis Iden added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
